Context
The municipality of Deventer organised a citizen assembly to involve residents to find solutions to climate challenges in the city. About a year after the citizen assembly ended, an independent evaluation was commissioned to assess the quality and impact of the process.
Role of FAIR Consulting
Together with another specialist in the field (Remco van der Stoep), we were responsible for analysing the design, implementation and outcomes of the citizen assembly.

- Analysis of the assembly design and recruitment process
- Assessment of participation quality and deliberation
- Interviews with organisers and participants
- Review of outcomes and policy follow-up
Outcome
The evaluation resulted in a set of recommendations to strengthen future citizen assemblies and participation processes within the province.
