Context
The city of Maastricht organised their first citizen assembly on the topic of liveability in the city. An independent evaluation was commissioned to assess the quality and impact of the process.
My role in the project
Independent evaluation based on the OECD principle.
Approach
- Analysis of the assembly design and recruitment process
- Assessment of participation quality and deliberation
- Interviews with organisers and participants
- Review of outcomes and policy follow-up
Outcome
The evaluation resulted in a set of recommendations to strengthen future citizen assemblies and participation processes for the municipality of Maastricht.
